Happy nomingg!
YAY!!! I've been really successful so far with making my own foods and finding great gluten free stuff! On Saturday I attempted to make my own rice flower. I then realized its much more work then I anticipated. Not to mention the spray of white powder everywhere in the kitchen. I also went to giant for sleepover gear. (unhealthy snacks and what not) but then realizing I couldn't have half of it my stomach was crying but then! I found they have like half an isle in the healthy foods section for gluten free foods. They had everything from pastas to breads and crackers. Pretty neat (: So I got some corn chips for the bangin' mango salsa my best friend is obsessed with and went on my way.
Then on Monday I made the most amazing discovery. Or well i already knew about it but i felt like i hit the jackpot. Kim's Oriental Market. I was in heaven. First off I could eat Asian food everyday of my life and never get sick of it. I got these amazing rice noodles. Heres a picture (:
Possibly the best noodles ever. I also got some jasmine rice, two packs of the wonderful noodles pictured above, some hot sriracha chili paste and some beef and pad thai paste to make broths. It was a very good gluten free and productive weekend! Hope this week is just a good!

First post!
Okay so a little about me?
I used to be a pretty healthy girl until around December of 2010. I started getting horrible stomachaches and sometimes ended up sleeping on the bathroom floor. It was like I couldn't go for more then 25 or 30 minutes without running to the bathroom. Like I said I had been pretty healthy so this was defiantly something out of the ordinary. After about a week & a half of this nonsense I went to the doctor to see what was up. She said I may just have a bug and wanted to do some tests to see if my drinking water was contaminated since we have a well. Those all came back negative and my symptoms were defiantly still here. So after an exhausting two weeks of way to many close calls running to the bathroom I decided to take matters into my own hands. Oh how the internet can be so useful. I typed in all my symptoms and one thing kept coming up, Celiac Disease. Celiac Disease is disorder in children and adults; inability to tolerate wheat protein (gluten). Yes i just copied that from Google (: anyways. I was reading all about it and I also learned it goes hand in hand with lactose intolerance which I also am. So I pretty much diagnosed myself with Celiac Disease and after a week or two of not eating anything with gluten(which is really hard!) all my symptoms went away. Its funny because sometimes I still check if it bothers me. Say I'll eat a piece of pizza. I'll defiantly feel that about 45 to an hour after I eat it. So right now I am a self diagnosed victim of Celiac Disease.
I am also in culinary arts school so I do make a lot of my own 'gluten free' recipes. I hope you'll follow me and together we can be G-free together :D
peace, love & happiness
